A Pembrokeshire mother has spoken of her pride in her son who is part of the UK's search and rescue mission in Haiti.
Dean Nankivell is one of nine firefighters from the Greater Manchester Fire Service deployed in the search and rescue mission.
Dean lived in Pembrokeshire during his teens and went to Ysgol Dewi Sant in St Davids for three years . He frequently returns to the county to visit his mother in Simpson Cross.
Dean's team were involved in rescuing an elderly man from the ruins of a supermarket on Saturday when the 4.5 aftershock struck.
He was also interviewed on Channel 4 on Saturday after attempt to rescue a girl from the rubble on Saturday.
"Dean is a part of a very professional, well-trained team," said his mother Rita Wheeler. "They are very focussed on their work at all times and in good spirits.
"I have so much admiration for for them. They are doing a sterling job out there, especially as they have had difficulties in getting equipment.
"Our hearts and minds are with all of them. I'm extremely proud of Dean and of all the rescuers out there.
"It makes it all worth while when they are able to successfully rescue anyone."
* Rita's neighbour, Reverend Michael Rowlands will be holding a coffee morning at the vicarage in Simpson Cross on Friday to raise money for victims of the Haiti earthquake.
