A Tenby man has been ordered to pay a total of £1165 after being found guilty of having undersized whelk in his catch.
Haverfordwest Magistrates Court heard how Officers from the South Wales Sea Fisheries Committee had inspected catches of whelk being landed at Saundersfoot on April 17th 2009, with some 900 kg from the defendant's boat containing more than 40% which were undersized.
Neil Thomas of 10 Haytor Gardens, Tenby, pleaded not guilty to the charge on January 13th, but The Court rejected all arguments and Thomas was duly convicted.
