Dear Editor
I wish to congratulate the Western Telegraph on having the courage to expose the way in which Councillor John Davies and his cabinet run the county council, especially concerning the Bluestone debacle.
People need to remember that public money from our council tax was invested in Bluestone via County Hall, and the Assembly as well.
We also need more people like Cllrs Vivien and Mike Stoddart to keep the truth in the open.
Too many times Cllr Davies has projected his ‘value for money’ rhetoric at every opportunity.
Now, when savings need to be made, there are headlines regarding outside consultants, car park charges going up or being introduced, services being curtailed or cut, and jobs at risk, yet there is no mention of curtailing the County Hall gravy train.
I’m sure there are plenty of ways the cabinet could make savings to improve services and avoid raising the council tax.
Do they have the courage to do so?
