Preseli Pembrokeshire MP Stephen Crabb has condemned today’s announcement to close Haverfordwest tax office.
Treasury Minister Stephen Timms sent Mr Crabb a letter this morning conforming the closure, which will mean 21 people losing their jobs.
"Today's letter from the Treasury confirming the closure of the HMRC office in Haverfordwest is extremely disappointing," said Mr Crabb.
"Ministers have ignored the representations and suggestions put to them about retaining staff in Haverfordwest.
"Instead they are pressing ahead with a centralisation plan that will do nothing to improve HMRC operations and will destroy stable high-quality jobs in Pembrokeshire.
"Yet again Pembrokeshire finds itself at the receiving end of central government cuts and my thoughts are with those facing redundancy in the months ahead.”
