Maintenance crews from Pembrokeshire county council and agricultural contractors will continue to clear Pembrokeshire's minor roads today (Thursday).

Many roads in the north east of the county became impassable following the build up of huge drifts and more snow fall on Tuesday.

A spokesman from the council said that all Trunk roads and A roads are now passable with care.

Primary routes were treated with pre-salting last night and this morning.

The only major route which is completely closed is the B4329 between Brynberian and New Inn. The council said that the B4329 is likely to be open after midday.

Minor roads in the north of the county remain subject to drifts and some are likely to remain impassable to cars at present.

The council's maintenance teams are working to clear minor roads today. It is hoped that a rise in temperatures will assist the process.

This morning there have been reports of ice on road from Cilgwyn to the B4329 at Temple Bar junction causing hazardous driving conditions, drivers are urged to proceed with caution.

School transport is said to be running as normal apart from on minor roads which are hazardous.

Black bag rubbish collections are currently operating in the north of the county on main roads and clear roads around Crymych and Eglwyswrw. A decision on orange bags collection will be made later on in the day.
