llegal immigrants, unsatisfactory CCTV provision and fire safety concerns could lead to a Haverfordwest take away losing its licence.
Pembrokeshire County Council licensing sub-committee met to discuss King Kebab Burger today (Wednesday). A final decision on will be made by the sub-committee on January 29th.
Dyfed-Powys Police applied for a licence review held by Mustafa Binboga in November last year on the grounds that the CCTV system was not up to standards required by the police, despite assistance, and "police officers had failed to obtain crucial evidence of criminal activities."
The committee also saw reference to four illegal immigrants arrested at the premises between 2006 and the end of last year, the most recent incident was in October. Mr Binboga took over the licence in 2007.
Committee chairman Cllr David Bryan said: "It is of concern that if illegal immigrants are working there, it means there is not a fit and proper person running it."
A fire prohibition notice is also in place for the upper floors of King Kebab Burger, rendering the toilets on the first floor unusable, a contravention of the premises licence.
Through an interpreter, Mr Binboga, told the committee that work had been done to the first floor and was due to be approved by the fire service.
The committee concluded that prevention of crime and disorder objectives were not being met and they were not satisfied that Mr Binboga and management fully understand the legal framework of ruining a business.
"We have no alternative to revoke the licence but are minded to defer the decision to January 29th," said Cllr Bryan.
Mr Binboga must provide full details of steps taken to improve the premises by this date, including the lifting of the prohibition order, CCTV provision to police standards and full training records of staff.
