A snow blower is on its way to Pentregalar, on the A478 near Crymych, to help clear the road which is currently down to one lane due to fresh and drifting snow.

There have been problems on the A478 since yesterday, when already fallen snow drifting in 30MPH winds created blizzard like conditions, fresh snowfall overnight has added to the problems.

Sow ploughs are keeping the road clear but is down to single lane traffic in some areas and driving conditions are described as hazardous.

Traffic is running slowly on the Penblewin to Cardigan road and is only passable with extreme care, snow ploughs are clearing the road.

Farmers have been drafted in to help clear minor roads affected by the prolonged spell of adverse weather.

Drifting is affecting several roads including side roads in the north of the county; the road from Puncheston to Little Newcastle and roads in the Tavernspite and Llanteg areas.

The A487 Fishguard to Cardigan road is passable with care, with some small drifts between Eglwyswrw & Cardigan. The road from Haverfordwest to Broad Haven is also passable with care.

There are reports of particular problems on roads in areas around Hayscastle, Camrose and Narberth and drivers are urged to proceed with caution.
