More schools are closing across Pembrokeshire this afternoon (Tuesday) as the north east of the county experienced white out in drifting snow and snow fall hits Solva and Croesgoch.
Schools in both Solva & Croesgoch are closing. Ysgol Bro Ingli, in Newport closed at 1.30pm, Puncheston school closed at 2pm.
Ysgol Preseli in Crymych, Maenclochog School, Eglwyswrw and Ysgol Clydau closed earlier today With rain forecast to turn to snow, with drifting, above 200 metres, other schools are considering sending staff and pupils living in areas above 150M home as a precautionary measure.
Gusts of wind on the Cleddau Bridge have now somewhat abated to 47 MPH. The bridge closes to high sided vehicles when the wind speed reaches 55mph.
Drifts of snow are causing traffic chaos in the north of the county (see attached article) with reports that the roads around Tegryn are particularly bad, even for JCBs and agricultural vehicles.
