Pembrokeshire County Council has announced that some schools in the county will not be open tomorrow (Tuesday).

The authority has confirmed that Portfield Special School and the autistic units at Pembroke School and Pembroke Dock Community Primary School will be closed.

It said that as the establishments serve pupils from all over Pembrokeshire and in view of the severe weather warning in place for Pembrokeshire they will not open tomorrow.

The forecast severe weather, which has a 60% chance of affecting Pembrokeshire according to the Met Office, presents a risk of extended journey times for the vulnerable children who attend these establishments.

For the first time in over a week Ysgol y Preseli, in Crymych, will be open for Years 11, 12 and 13 tomorrow. Transport will run but may not be able to access all areas. Pupils sitting external exams are urged to make every effort to attend school.

Greenhill School is open tomorrow (Tuesday, 12th January) at the normal time, and transport will run at the usual times.
