A roadworks and footway improvement scheme in Saundersfoot has been suspended until the weather takes a turn for the better.
The project by Pembrokeshire County Council got underway on Monday of last week, with work beginning in Cambrian Terrace and Milford Street, ahead of resurfacing.
However, adverse weather conditions have led the council to put the job on temporary hold.
"Conditions have not yet improved sufficiently for the contractors to resume work," said council spokesman Len Mullins. "They will do so when the weather relents."
As well as the road resurfacing, the programme includes the creation of new and improved footways, safe crossings, shelters, cycle racks and traffic calming close to Saundersfoot School in Church Terrace, Wogan Terrace and Francis Lane.
Over £500,000 is to be spent on this as a result of a successful bid for Safe Routes in Communities funding from the National Assembly.
