Pembrokeshire seems to be breaking out of the grip of last week's big freeze, at least for today (Monday).

All schools are open, although many of them are not running breakfast clubs and headteachers are urging caution on approach to many schools (see attached article).

There will, however, be no rehearsal of the Haverfordwest Area Orchestra in Prendergast School Hall this evening. Orchestra will resume next Monday January 18th.  Tenby's Greenhill school is running on a reduced timetable today, more information is available on the school's website www.greenhill.pembrokeshire.sch.uk .

The council's learning disability day centres and the older persons day centres are open today for the first time since Wednesday.

Refuse collections have also resumed this morning. Rubbish collections are running on normal Monday routes on roads that have been gritted and which are clear of snow and ice.

Householders who have not had their rubbish collected because of last week's adverse weather conditions are asked to take in their bin bags and store them until their next normal scheduled collection.

Pembrokeshire's civic amenity sites are gritted and operating as normal, they accept black refuse sacks but not orange recycling bags.

The local bus service is now running as close to a normal service as possible, although may be subject to delays in some areas.

Silcox's 351 Pendine/Tenby service is not running today and neither is Richards Brothers' 405 Poppit Rocket.

Edwards 308 Llangwm/Hook/Hwest service is running but is not serving Jordanston at present and Richards 400 Puffin Shuttle is running but not serving Nolton or Druidstone Haven.
