A critically ill woman was airlifted to Withybush Hospital in yesterday’s (Tuesday‘s) wintry conditions.
A land ambulance had gone to the aid of the woman, suffering a possible pulmonary embolism, in Stammers Road Saundersfoot.
Paramedics and a doctor were treating the woman. The doctor decided that she needed to get to hospital as soon as possible.With road conditions treacherous he requested that she be airlifted.
Ambulance control contacted Milford Haven coastguard HQ at 3.17pm and RAF helicopter 169 from Chivenor was tasked to the incident.
The woman was then airlifted to Withybush Hospital for treatment.
