The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dalmatian crossbreed puppy was abandoned in freezing conditions in Haverfordwest.
The animal was found at about 11am on New Year’s Eve, tied to a bench near the town’s old racecourse.
RSPCA officers said it is possible that the 14-week-old male dog had been left there overnight.
Named Marley by the member of public who found him, the dog has not been microchipped and cannot be identified.
“It’s barely been above freezing in Haverdfordwest recently and this dog is lucky to have survived," RSPCA inspector Keith Hogben said.
"It’s quite possible that Marley may have been an unwanted Christmas present. It’s vital that we trace the owner as soon as possible.”
Anyone who knows anything about this incident is urged to call the RSPCA in confidence on 03001234 999.
