An icy start to 2010 has led to emergency services being called out to several incidents around Pembrokeshire.

At 2.32pm on January 2nd police and fire fighters were called to a car which had been abandoned due to icy conditions and was blocking the road at Clay Lanes Haverfordwest.

Fire fighters used a winch to remove the vehicle.

At 5.45 pm on the same day a fire appliance from Haverfordwest attended a one car crash on the B4329 near Scolton Manor.

Fire crews were at the scene for around 40 minutes and made both the roadway and the vehicle safe.

On Sunday, January 3rd, four vehicles were winched off ice in Market Street, Haverfordwest, with fire fighters working for an hour and a half to get cars and their passengers to safety.

Today (Monday) Narberth crew was called to a one vehicle crash near Little Kings Park, Ludchurch. Fire fighters were at the scene for nearly an hour, making the car and the roadway safe.

Meanwhile in Fishguard a driver coming out of Hamilton Terrace in adverse weather conditions on New Year's Day came into collision with the shop front of 16 Main Street .

The incident happened between 10pm and 11pm and the driver failed to stop. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact Fishguard police station on 101.
