A labrador / lurcher called Angel was plucked to safety by Fishguard inshore lifeboat on Saturday.
The dog had become trapped on rocks on the shoreline near Saddle Point while walking with its local owner on the Marine Walk at around 5.30pm.
The lifeboat launched in tricky conditions with a strong wind blowing and darkness imminent.
The three volunteer crew rescued the small dog from the rocks, she hadn't sustained any injuries during her ordeal.
The dog was taken to Lower Town harbour where a representative from Fishguard coastguard drove her back to her anxious owner who was waiting on the Marine Walk.
