Presspack has teamed up with Western Power Distribution (WPD) to run a competition that could save lives this winter.
As part of a Brighter Bikes campaign, the company is offering two young Presspackers (one in each of two age groups) the chance to win a new bicycle plus safety helmets and lights totalling up to £200 in value. Best of all, you’ll have it just in time for Christmas.
All you have to do is design a poster that is based around a simple safety slogan that encourages cyclists to light up their bikes at night so that they are visible to motorists.
The design can be in any medium (although electronically-created entries will not be accepted), and must not be bigger than A4 in size.
And as part of the campaign, every youngster who enters the competition will receive a glow in the dark safety wristband.
Phil Davies, Western Power Distribution’s network services manager for Wales said: “We are always keen to promote safety awareness to young people of all ages.
“With the darker winter evenings ahead, our hope is that this new initiative, while being fun for youngsters to get involved in, will also drive home a serious safety message – light up your cycles at night. Be seen and stay safe.”
Don’t wait until the last minute – post in your entries to Presspack, Western Telegraph, Old Hakin Road, Merlins Bridge, Haverfordwest, SA61 1XF today.
