A missing 96-year-old woman sparked a massive emergency services search in the Boncath area, which continued into the early hours of yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
The woman went missing form Cilwendeg residential care home in Boncath at around 5pm on Tuesday evening.
A police helicopter with a thermal imaging camera and police officers from Fishguard and Cardigan were tasked to the incident.
At around 10.40pm two fire crews from Crymych joined in the search, they used a 4x4 vehicle to search the rough terrain around the home.
The woman was found by fire crews at around 12.20am down a track around half a mile from the home.
She appeared to have fallen and had cuts and bruises as well as suffering from the cold.
An ambulance was called to the incident at 12.30am. The woman was given first aid by fire fighters before being taken to Withybush Hospital for a check up.
Nobody from the care home was available to comment on the incident today (Thursday). The Western Telegraph hopes to obtain a comment tomorrow.
