Now that the witches hats are hung up and the broomsticks put away for another year, Welsh cancer charity Tenovus is calling on trick-or-treaters to donate any discarded Halloween costumes to one of its local shops.
Tenovus shops, like the ones in Pembroke, Tenby and Cardigan, are an integral part of the charity’s goals of helping those affected by cancer. Frequent donations are vital to keep the shops open and stocked with high-quality clothing.
Tenovus can also claim Gift Aid on donated goods, making every penny go further in tackling cancer.
Helen Weir, retail operations manager for Tenovus, said: “We all love to get dressed up, but often you spend money on an outfit that will never be used again.
“Our shops are always busy with people looking for unique items of clothing —whatever the occasion — and Halloween is the perfect opportunity to re-use your brilliant costumes.”
She continued: “All donations to our charity shops make a huge difference to our fundraising.
“Tenovus aims to deliver cancer treatment and services in local communities throughout Wales.
“Today we are working to fund innovative mobile units and local support centres to address this need and if we can encourage more people to help us out, we know we can reach these targets.”
