Dear editor
Regarding the comment ‘Bomb is a timely reminder of losses’ (Western Telegraph, October 29th) perhaps I can help to solve the question on ‘what the targets were’.
As a ten-year-old who witnessed the raid and saw the German bombers, it was explained that the bomber had been sent to attack warships anchored in Milford Haven.
Fortunately, it was driven off by anti-aircraft fire and then harassed by one of our fighter planes.
In its attempt to escape it jettisoned its bombs haphazardly over Haverfordwest.
