A Tenby nurse convicted of assault has been struck off by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Christopher Richard Baldwin, a registered learning disabilities nurse, attended a hearing in Cardiff on Friday. He was not represented and left midway through the hearing.
The hearing was told that Baldwin, aged 58, had been convicted, at Haverfordwest magistrates court on June 20th, 2007, of assaulting a woman.
He was sentenced to a 12 month community order, given 100 hours of community work and ordered to pay £2500 costs.
That conviction followed an earlier court appearance where Baldwin was convicted of failing to provide a specimen of breath after a road accident.
That was at Carmarthen magistrates court on March 2007 and Baldwin was sentenced to a community order, sent on a drink impaired drivers programme and ordered to pay £50 in costs.
On Friday the NMC Conduct and Competence Committee Panel found all facts proved by way of admission and judged that Baldwin's fitness to practice was impaired.
The committee decided a striking off order was the appropriate outcome.
