One year after his birth, ‘miracle baby’ Brandon Kramer is a little fighter and still proving doctors wrong.
Beaming from ear to ear, Brandon was the centre of attention at his first birthday party at Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock and his cheeky smile and infectious laughter kept all 50 guests entertained.
On his actual birthday the lucky lad enjoyed a trip to Folly Farm.
The Pembroke Dock tot made the headlines last year when he was born a happy and healthy baby, despite doctors’ predictions that he could die within hours of birth or be left severely disabled.
His mum, Becky Weatherall, and her partner Kris, decided to ignore medical advice to consider a termination, and the proud parents haven’t looked back since.
“He’s such a happy baby,” said Becky.
“He’s always giggling, clapping and chatting away. He gives all the ladies kisses and bats his eyelashes at everyone.”
Brandon is developing like any other healthy one-year-old, apart from some problems with his balance.
“He’s not perfect but he keeps proving people wrong.
“At our last hospital appointment we were warned that he may never sit up or walk, then just last Thursday he sat up.
“The problem is just that he learned to crawl before he learned to sit up, so he’s having physio sessions to help build his strength.”
Brandon had his first Chelsea strip for his birthday, as well as a Thomas the Tank Engine sofa and lots of Barney toys.
Becky added: “It’s hard to believe this is the baby they said might not survive.”
