A 40-year-old man was cut free from his car after it collided with a telephone pole on the B4319 between Pembroke and Stackpole yesterday (Thursday) evening.
Fire crews and paramedics were called to the crash near Cheriton at around 6pm. Fire fighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the 40-year-old man who had neck injuries and was complaining of chest pain.
He was put on a spinal board and transferred to an ambulance that took him to Withybush Hospital.
Fire crews then used the winch of the rescue tender to clear the roadway and make the scene safe.
In a separate incident a 22-year old man was also taken to hospital last night, after his car collided with a hedge on the Trefgarne Bends.
The man was assisted from his vehicle by fire fighters and paramedics who had been called to the A40 crash at around 7.50pm.
Fire crews then made the road safe and the man was taken to Withybush Hospital by ambulance.
