Dear Editor — I have lived in Haverfordwest for 42 years and Pembrokeshire’s county town seems to be going backwards rather than forwards with great pride.
The first issue is the never-ending construction of new pavements in the town centre. I agree that we need new pavements but was bitterly disappointed by Castle Square, which has lost all of its character.
Secondly, High Street needs urgent attention and vast amounts of investment to bring it up to county town status, with the once proud Shire Hall being left to rot and the demise and neglect of empty buildings.
Finally, time and space for motorists in Haverfordwest has been re-ordered, thanks to traffic lights to control traffic flow.
