There was no explosive ending after a World War Two bomb, dug up in the garden of a Haverfordwest bungalow yesterday (Monday), was removed by soldiers from Brawdy.
The old, rusty device was discovered by fencers working in the garden of Keats Grove yesterday morning. They rang the police who cordoned off the area and evacuated premises 30 metres either side of the bungalow.
The police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team were contacted. After they had confirmed that the device was harmless, officers from the Brawdy based 14 Signal Regiment removed the bomb.
They arrived at the property at 3.30 and were tasked to remove the bomb and store it securely until the EOD team arrived in Pembrokeshire to deal with it.
