Folly Farm starts its popular Halloween Shriek Week today (Saturday)with a new owl show and the unveiling of the Ghost Train’s dramatic makeover featuring alongside creepy-crawly handling sessions.

Folly Farm’s Ghost Train was made in 1964 for showman Johnny Scott and the exterior of the ride still retains its original decoration by renowned fairground artist Fred Fowle. Its makeover includes wonderful new interior scenes painted by Tenby artist Andrew Regan using three dimensional and ultra violet paints, a new longer track, totally refurbished cars and some new spooky surprises, including the pirate and graveyard scenes.

The interactive owl show, which is a special limited event for Halloween, is sure to be a real crowd pleaser, giving the audience the chance to get up close to Folly Farm’s beautiful owls and see the graceful creatures in flight. The show packs a serious conservation message too, highlighting the plight of barn owls in the UK, and donation boxes will raise funds for the Barn Owl Trust.

Folly Farm’s Shriek Week event runs from 25th October to 2nd November from 10am until 5pm. Opening times vary after this date so please check in advance. For more information visit www.folly-farm.co.uk
