Giving the children and young people of Pembrokeshire a flying start in life is one of the core aims of Pembrokeshire County Council’s Children and Young People’s Plan, which will be endorsed at a meeting of full council today (Thursday).
The 72-page document outlining the authority’s vision for the children and young people of the county states that the plan aims to provide a comprehensive range of education and learning opportunities; ensure the best possible health, with protection from abuse, victimisation and exploitation and provide access for play, leisure, sporting and cultural activities.
It also seeks to ensure that children and young people are listened to, treated with respect and have their race and cultural identities recognised; have a safe home and community which supports physical and emotional well-being and are not disadvantaged by poverty.
The plan has been prepared following wide consultation with children, young people, families, and various voluntary and statutory organisations, both local and national.
