A banner embroidered to mark Pembrokeshire's place in next year's St David's Day parade is due to feature in tonight's edition of Wedi7 on S4C.
The programme, which can be watched with English subtitles through Ceefax's 888 service, is expected to feature one of the parade's organisers, local singer-songwriter Gwenno Dafydd.
The banner is Gwenno's brainchild and its design features lyrics and images from her song Ring out the Bells for St David, Cenwch y Clychau i Dewi, which is sung in the parade.
Some of the Pembrokeshire's finest needle women are working on a the banner which, as the first in Wales to be commissioned, looks to set the standard country wide.
The banner has been designed by renowned textile artists, Audrey Walker and Eirian Short, two of the embroidery arrangers for Fishguard's famous last invasion tapestry.
The Pembrokeshire Branch of the Embroiderers Guild, under the guidance of project manager Heulwen Reynolds, are now working on sample pieces of the banner while funding for the project is sought.
The project has the full backing of Fishguard Arts Society.
"This will be a wonderful community project and an exquisite work of art in the tradition of the last invasion tapestry," said society chairman Gaynor McMorrin.
"There is so much expertise, commitment and determination for this work and this will make it a showcase piece for the rest of Wales."
The organisers are now looking for sponsorship and financial support to carry out the banner project which they say will be a significant feature in the perception of Pembrokeshire and its place in the arts and tourism in Wales.
