Pupils at a Pembrokeshire primary school were evacuated earlier today (Monday) following a suspected gas leak.
Lessons at Sageston School were interrupted shortly after 10.30 this morning when odours were smelt in the computer room situated next door to the boiler room.
A smell of gas was also reported in the school library.
The school’s 90 pupils were evacuated by teaching staff, first to the playground and then to the grounds of a nearby engineering works.
While workmen from British Gas and Pembrokeshire County Council investigated, the pupils were moved to the village hall.
Pupils were allowed to return to the school in time for lunch when the workmen gave the all-clear.
No gas leak was detected. The smell is thought to have been vapours emanating from the boiler room.
