An application to turn a derelict Solva farm building into a home was turned down by the National Park Development Management Committee yesterday (Wednesday).
The application to alter and extend a disused outbuilding at Penpant Farm had been brought before the National Park in September, and deferred for a site visit.
Cllr Robin Evans - one of the members who had been to see the site - backed the proposals, telling the committee that any work on the building would be an improvement.
But planning officer, Cath Milner, warned that approving plans on the basis that they would improve a building which had been left to become run-down was a “dangerous route to go down,” and reminded the committee that the plans went against development rules.
Members voted to refuse the application by eight votes to six.
