Pembrokeshire people have joined the area’s army regiment in an event of music, food and thanks.

The 14th Signal Regiment (Electronic Warfare) has been based at Brawdy’s Cawdor Barracks for decades.

The regiment has been given the Freedom of Haverfordwest and been visited by royalty at Brawdy.

As the Army’s only regiment providing electronic warfare (EW) capability, the 14th Signals Regiment’s mission is to achieve superiority in the electromagnetic spectrum and deliver intelligence to the army's land forces.

It is scheduled to leave Brawdy in 2028, with the site earmarked for a deep space radar site.

At the beginning of October the commanding officer, officers and warrant officers of the regiment hosted local dignitaries, community leaders and Pembrokeshire people at St Davids Cathedral. The Prince of Wales Military Band played for the guests. The band is comprised of musicians from The Royal Corps of Army Music and is one of the 14 Regular Army Bands in the British Army.

All who attended also enjoyed food and drink together.

“The event was aimed at thanking the people of Pembrokeshire for all the support they offer the regiment,” said 14th Signals Captain Ed Cuthbertson.
