There’s a restaurant in Pembrokeshire with authentic Indian food that always leaves me feeling satisfied.

The Shaad in Narberth is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting.

With a wide selection of curry, sides and Western dishes, Shaad offers something for everyone.

Apart from being incredibly flavoursome, I like how much meat is provided in the curry portions that are non-vegetarian.

And when I’ve been hungrier than usual, I’ve ordered samosas or spring rolls as a starter, both of which are piping hot on the plate and filled with a plethora of sizzling spices.

To be honest, once my food arrives, I never expect to feel so full afterwards. But that’s exactly what happens.

After a couple of poppadoms, my chosen curry, pilau rice and naan bread, I enter a peaceful food coma.

The poppadoms are large, crispy, fresh and come with a selection of sauces, ranging from sweet to spicy.

The pilau rice is well-cooked and not al dente, making it easy to mix with the curry.

For people who fear spicy food, I would recommend the bhuna or pathia. Both are mild yet pack plenty of flavour.

The restaurant does not sell any alcohol, but customers are welcome to bring their own. If you’re not looking for anything boozy, there is a selection of soft drinks.

With regards to service, the staff who work here are polite and attentive. The food you order will come out in good time and if you struggle to finish the sizable portions, takeaway boxes are provided.

Speaking of takeaways, Shaad also offers deliveries for those who prefer a night in.

Overall, as far as Indian restaurants go, Shaad is hard to beat, which is why I would give the place a score of 5/5.

This is my personal review of the restaurant, but you only need to look on TripAdvisor to see more than 100 five-star reviews from various customers.
