A Harper Adams University graduate and active member of the YFC in Pembrokeshire has won a scholarship to attend the prestigious Oxford Farming Conference.
Hannah Rees, a member of Llysyfran YFC, learned her dairy farming skills alongside her late father Joe Rees and is one of only two people in England and Wales chosen by the the National Federation of Young Farmers to receive a scholarship to the event in January.
The fully funded scholarship is funded by the Worshipful Company of Farmers.
"I am originally from a dairy background and now work in sustainability," said Hannah.
"I got the scholarship through the National Federation of Young Farmers (NFYFC). The scholarship will also see me visit the McDonald's HQ in London where I’ll meet fellow scholars from other organisations.
"The theme for this year is 'Facing Change Finding Opportunity' which I’m thoroughly looking forward to.
"The Oxford Farming Conference is a three-day conference with people from all over the rural and agricultural sector. It’ll be a brilliant opportunity to network with like-minded individuals from all over the industry.
Hannah also paid tribute to the role of the YFC movement in giving her opportunities to develop her career.
"It’s an opportunity that I would never have had without the organisation," she added.
