People in west Wales are being offered the chance to write their wills for free.

Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, has teamed up with Farewill to provide this opportunity throughout October 2024.

The "will-writing month" initiative is aimed at helping individuals without a will to draft one, and for those with an existing will, to make necessary updates.

The scheme allows participants to include provisions for their loved ones and, if they wish, a contribution to their NHS charity.

Spaces for this initiative are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The wills can be drafted online or over the phone, taking less than 30 minutes to complete.

Katie Hancock, Hywel Dda Health Charities' fundraising officer, said: "This is a great and convenient opportunity to ensure your family’s future is secure and that your wishes will be followed through – and also to support your local NHS charity if you choose to do so.

"Even a donation of 1 per cent of your estate to the charity will help us provide services and activities above and beyond what the NHS can normally provide."
