The funeral of a much-loved local taxi driver who lost his life in a crash takes place today (Friday, September 27).
Chris Boyle, 57, known fondly as Mucker, died in a two car crash on the A4139 near Tenby on the evening of Monday, September 2.
His funeral takes place at St Mary’s Church in Tenby at 10am, followed by committal at Parc Gwyn Crematorium at 12.15pm.
The funeral cortege will be passing through Kilgetty at approximately 11.45am, for anyone wishing to pay their respects.
The family has chosen The Firefighters Charity to receive donations in memory, which can be made via the funeral directors W and MJ Rossiter and Sons of Tenby.
The much-loved cabbie was well-known locally as somebody who would go out of his way to help people.
Fellow taxi driver Gabriel Nowak said: “I cannot think of anyone in Tenby, or even Pembrokeshire, who will not have known Mucker and will have undoubtedly heard the words ‘Mucker Boy’ at some point in their life.
“I am sure most of you, like myself, will forever miss his banter, his friendship and his cheap rides home.”
Mr Boyle’s family added: "He was very involved in the community and would do anything to help anyone.”
A GoFundMe set up by Mr Nowak to go towards funeral costs and to support Mr Boyle’s children has so far raised £16,574.
Customers and fellow drivers described Mr Boyle as "one in a million", "such a gent" and "the nicest guy ever".
