Rev Heidi de Gruchy was welcomed into her new role as vicar of Monkton.
Rev Heidi, who is also the vicar of Pembroke and Lamphey, was joined by her husband, Rev William Lambert, and a large congregation at Monkton Priory.
The Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir, known for their performances at the priory due to its excellent acoustics, were part of the welcome ceremony.
Musical director, Juliet Rossiter, led the choir in a programme that included 'Morte Christe' and 'Gwadhoddiad', which were well-received by the congregation.
Peter Halifax, a first tenor and soloist, performed four pieces, including 'Working Man' for the first time, accompanying himself on guitar.
The master of ceremonies, Matthew John, invited the male members of the congregation to join in the finale, 'American Trilogy', an invitation that was accepted by Rev William and three others.
Special thanks were given to guest accompanist Peter Griffiths, who has been assisting the choir in their search for a permanent replacement.
Earlier in the evening, Ed Morris from the first bass section presented a cheque to choir chairman Huw Morgan from the Pembroke Farmers’ Club, following the choir’s recent successful concert at Lamphey.
Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir will perform their next concert for Remembrance on Friday, November 1 at Pembroke Town Hall.
The choir hopes to have a new accompanist appointed by then.
Earlier this month, the choir also made one of their annual visits to St John’s Church, Tenby.
