Nine Welsh accountants are set to skydive for cancer charity.

The staff at Ashmole & Co, an accountancy firm in South Wales, will take on the skydiving challenge next month to raise funds for Tenovus Cancer Care.

After completing a 12-mile charity walk along the Swansea coastal path, the team has decided to take their fundraising efforts to new heights, quite literally.

The adrenaline junkies will be jumping out of an aircraft over the Gower coastline.

Karl Wilcox, a partner in Ashmole & Co's Cardigan office, is among those taking the plunge.

Mr Wilcox said: "We recently launched a year of fundraising in aid of Tenovus Cancer Care.

"Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer or has a family member receiving treatment themselves.

"We were keen to support a cancer charity based in Wales, and all the funds raised would be used to support those affected by cancer in Wales.

"We hope our clients and friends will help us raise as much money as possible for this extremely worthy cause."

The event, scheduled for Saturday, October 5, will see the team freefall from more than 10,000 feet at speeds of up to 120 mph.

The intrepid fundraisers include Mr Wilcox and trainee accountant Max Geary from the Cardigan office, Carmarthen-based payroll and HR manager Eirian Evans, partner Vinal Patel from the Ammanford and Carmarthen offices, accountant Sam Jones and trainee accountant Gareth Thomas from the Llandeilo office, Ammanford office accountant Kane Williams, and Haverfordwest office payroll clerk Rachel Jones and payroll assistant Matthew Price.

Donations to support Ashmole & Co’s fundraising for Tenovus Cancer Care can be made via their Just Giving page, or directly to any member of staff or at any office.

Elin Murphy, Tenovus Cancer Care’s regional fundraising manager for south west Wales, said: "Ashmole & Co are going all out to raise funds with staff signing up to do so many events out of their comfort zone.

"We are very grateful to everyone for choosing to help raise funds for Tenovus Cancer Care.

"Donations mean that we can continue to support cancer patients and their loved ones with our services and actively campaign to improve outcomes and give a voice to all affected by cancer in Wales."

Tenovus Cancer Care is a Wales-based charity providing support to those affected by cancer.

The charity relies on the support of its community of volunteers and fundraisers to continue its work.
