A local lifeboat has been launched following reports of a swimmer in trouble.
St Davids All Weather Lifeboat was launched at 5.08pm on Sunday, September 22, following reports of a swimmer in difficulty off the north end of Newgale beach.
The volunteer crew and lifeboat launched in calm conditions and began to make best speed towards the casualty.
The crew was stood down as the lifeboat was just south of Porthclais after coastguards received reports that the swimmer had made it ashore safely.
The lifeboat returned to station at 5.41pm and was made ready for service.
