FOOD and music fans will be heading to Narberth this weekend for a tasty serving of live music, food and entertainment.

The annual Narberth Food Festival will offer a flavour of some of the best Pembrokeshire and Welsh food and drink businesses. 

First on the menu is an education day for local schoolchildren on Friday before the festival opens to the public on Saturday at 10am.

With more than 45 stalls, street food, chef demonstrations, talks, and tastings there is sure to be something for everyone.

Hosting the music stage will be local music broadcaster BB Skone with a packed programme of live performances across both days.

There will also be a street food area and bar, as well as more entertainment and children’s craft activities.

The event will take place in part of the Town Moor car park with a park and ride scheme in place over the weekend.

Holly Robinson, of the food festival committee, said: “Narberth Food Festival is the perfect chance to discover something new, hear about some of the great work going on locally, and enjoy spending time with family and friends as part of the festivities.”

The festival committee is a small team of volunteers who live and/or work in the community.

Entry is £5 for adults each day and free for children under 16. Gates open 10am to 6pm Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday.

Dogs are permitted in outdoor areas, but not in the main food marquees. 

A BSL interpreter will sign for demonstrations in the food theatre on Saturday.

The park and ride scheme runs from Narberth primary school (from the Penblewin direction) and by A&C Aggregates on the Templeton side of town.

On Saturday in the food theatre will be Douglas Balish, executive chef at The Grove, Narberth; Josh Freeman, of Salt & Smoke, known for their smoked salmon; Karl Jones-Hughes, head chef at Stopio, Narberth; Owen Rosser, of Pembrokeshire Chilli Farm and Craig Reeves (Reeves BBQ); Emma the Miller and Gabriele the Baker of Y Felin, St Dogmaels; and Matthew Rees of Carmarthen Ham. Music comes from: Abbie Jebbers, Tomos Newman, Desert Life, The Swingin Nettles, Cadence, and BoxSet.

Then on Sunday guests are Gerwyn Jones, head chef of Lan y Môr, near Saundersfoot; author and broadcaster Simon Wright (The People’s Kitchen - Cegin y Bobl); broadcaster, cookery school owner and food writer Angela Gray; and Ludo Dieumegard, head chef at The Harbourmaster, Aberaeron. Live music from:, Rosey Cale, Follically Challenged, John Lewis, Omega Two, Ella Guru.
