A remote pub near Haverfordwest has over 70 five-star reviews on Tripadvisor and is rated as one of Pembrokeshire’s best.

The Corner Piece Inn, based in Rudbaxton, has more than 100 reviews and an average rating of four and half stars out of five.

Reviews on Tripadvisor commend the pub for it’s tasty Sunday lunch, delicious roast dinner and dog-friendly setting.

I had a warm welcome from the owners and a fantastic Sunday lunch with lovely fresh selection of vegetables and fabulous roast potatoes.

“It was just perfect, and it set me up for my long journey ahead! Thank you both for my making my day much nicer.”

All homemade by the lovely landlady who was friendly and professional.

“I sat at the bar after lunch with the locals who were all really friendly and welcoming. I’m looking forward to returning for more great food and merriment. I bet the beer garden is perfect in the summertime.”

Meanwhile, a review from January 2024 posted: “I had Sunday lunch here. Wow, it was fabulous. There was a lovely selection of meats and fresh local produce with generous portions.

“To top it off there was a variety of homemade puddings. I would highly recommend it.”

But today was the first time we had a Sunday lunch and it was delicious.

"A good choice of starters was followed by a choice of roast beef, pork, turkey or two vegetarian options, all served with copious vegetables. It was all freshly cooked and like home cooking."
