A talented Pembrokeshire photographer’s picture of a pony waiting for an ice-cream is hoping to have the competition licked in the British Photographic Awards.
The amusing scene of the cute creature outside an ice-cream van was captured by Gill Mackay of Tenby and is now lining up in the Street Photography section of the prestigious awards.
Tenby and District Camera Club member Gill will be attending the event’s presentation night in London in November.
The winning photographer will be chosen by a panel of judges but the public can vote for their favourite image in each of the 20 categories.

Gill’s image is entitled ‘Ice Cream Please’.
A Tenby and District Camera Club spokesperson described Gill as “exceptionally talented” and added “We urge you to vote for her and wish her the very best. Well done Gill, we are very proud of you.”
Weekly meetings
Tenby and District Camera Club meets every Thursday at 7.30pm in St Florence Village Hall, with its programme including speakers, workshops and competitions. New members and guests are always welcome.

Toby's talk
This was an inspirational talk by this talented and much-travelled young man who has been doing photography for 13 years – half his life,.
Toby's photographs have been recognised in competitions, both in the UK and internationally and he appeared on Alan Titchmarsh’s TV programme. 'Love your Weekend'.
He has spent the past three years working in the TV industry in Bristol for the BBC, National Geographic and Netflix and his photography captures both rural and urban wildlife, from puffins, lions, leopards, hyena and foxes.
September guest
September’s second guest presenter was Nigel Thomas, an avid member of Burry Port Camera Club .
Nigel outlined his history of health problems, experienced several years ago and explsined how photography was his salvation, giving him a reason to live and smile again.
He shared his passion for landscape and seascape photograph Nigel continued with outlining the fundamental aspects of photography, advising on long exposures, use of graduated filters and 10 stop neutral density filters. He covered panoramas, depth of field and photo stacking, He explained that planning was important, using apps for weather and tides.
His passion for landscape and seascape photography shone through with brilliant and breathtaking images. His talk was an inspiration to members who enjoyed his honesty and passion.
