A Haverfordwest dairy has been acquired by a Surrey-based dairy supplier.

Freshways Group, a leading UK dairy supplier, has announced the acquisition of Totally Welsh Dairy.

The strategic move, which took place on September 11, marks a significant expansion for Freshways.

Totally Welsh Dairy, established in 1990, has a strong reputation for high-quality milk sourced from Welsh farmers within a 40-mile radius of their bottling plant.

The company is committed to sustainability, using reusable glass bottles and ensuring all milk is packed in Wales.

Freshways' acquisition of Totally Welsh Dairy follows their recent purchase of Milk & More from Müller in January 2024.

The integration of Milk & More has allowed Freshways to expand its home delivery services and sustainability efforts.

Freshways' managing director, Bali Nijjar, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Totally Welsh Dairy into the Freshways family.

"Their commitment to quality and sustainability aligns perfectly with our values.

"This acquisition will allow us to better serve our customers with an expanded range of products while supporting local Welsh farmers.

"Additionally, the recent integration of Milk & More has strengthened our delivery capabilities, enabling us to meet the growing demand for convenient, sustainable dairy products."

Mark Hunter, owner and managing director of Totally Welsh, said: "The sale to Freshways will ensure the future growth and development of Totally Welsh, creating new opportunities for the company and its dedicated workforce."

Totally Welsh Dairy recently invested in a new glass bottling line to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging.

This will be used to serve the doorstep customers supplied by Milk & More.
