A Pembrokeshire site manager has been given a 'seal of excellence'.
Mike Thomas, of South Meadow Homes Ltd in Pembroke, was among six site managers from across the region who were recognised for their dedication to raising standards in house building.
The awards were part of the 2024 Pride in the Job Awards, organised by the National House Building Council (NHBC).
The annual competition is considered the 'Oscars' of the house-building industry and recognises the UK's top site managers for their exceptional work.
The judging process is rigorous, with assessment across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety.
As well as the Seal of Excellence, Mr Thomas was awarded a Quality Award in the first round of the competition in June.
Steve Wood, CEO at NHBC, congratulated the winners, saying: "For more than four decades, Pride in the Job has underpinned NHBC’s purpose of raising standards in house building.
"The competition recognises the UK’s top site managers, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence.
"Winning site managers demonstrate dedication, passion and leadership to ensure new homes are delivered to exacting construction quality standards.
"While house building is a team effort, we believe the greatest influence on the quality of a finished home is the calibre of the site manager and the way they inspire their team.
"Congratulations to all the winners."
The Pride in the Job Awards have five categories: small, medium, and large builders, plus multi-storey for projects up to seven storeys and high-rise for projects more than seven storeys.
The competition is now in its 44th year and is widely considered the benchmark for exceptional site managers.
The other five site managers who, like Mr Thomas, were awarded the Seal of Excellence and Quality Award were Dave Jones of Barratt and David Wilson Homes South Wales in Swansea, Paul Oakley of Bellway Homes Wales in Cardiff, Nick Powell of Redrow Homes South Wales in Newport, Nick Rumble of Persimmon Homes West Wales in Pontyclun, and Daniel Williams of Taylor Wimpey South Wales in Penarth.
A series of regional events are taking place throughout the UK to announce the Regional and Seal of Excellence Award winners and celebrate the achievements of the Quality Award recipients.
Gareth Davies of T I Davies A'I Fab Cyf won the Small Builder category for his work at Maes Y Dderwen in Cardigan Matthew Coyle of Redrow Homes South Wales won the Large Builder category for his work at Parc Y Coleg in Newport
