A Pembrokeshire food producer had a visit from a Devon cheese and butter business' staff on their Children In Need Tuk-Tuk ride.

Millbrook Dairy, a fast-growing cheese and butter business, is travelling from its headquarters in Bideford, Devon, to the Orkney Islands in Scotland.

Founders David Evans and Kevin Beer are at the wheel of a Tuk-Tuk, complete with a giant wedge of cheese on the roof, to raise funds for BBC Children In Need.

The trip, which the team plans to complete in nine days, will include 29 stops and a total of 1,600 miles.

As part of the trip, the pair visited Gower View Foods in Carmarthenshire and Haverfordwest (part of First Milk).

As master cheese graders, they met the owners and their teams and enjoyed the opportunity to taste and grade their cheese.

Mr Beer, co-founder and director at Millbrook Dairy Company, said: "It’s our fifth birthday this year, and we wanted to do something different where we can give back to society – hence our crazy Tuk-Tuk idea is now happening.

"As well as raising money for a fantastic cause, we are sampling some amazing cheeses along the way too from the very best of UK producers.

"We are loving every moment, although it has made us appreciate the comfort we all take for granted in our normal vehicles."

Mr Evans, co-founder and director at Millbrook Dairy Company, added: "So far, we have raised over £10,000 for Children in Need which is an amazing charity that helps fund thousands of projects in every corner of the UK.

"Our family and friends have already sponsored us, and some of our wonderful suppliers and customers have supported us too, and we are hoping that our fundraising will continue to grow throughout and after our trip."
