Part of a road will be closed over six weekends to avoid a full A40 closure.

The closures are part of ongoing work to improve the A40 from Llanddewi Velfrey to Redstone Cross.

Henllan Lane will be shut at the Henllan Lodge junction, with a diversion in place for residents via Llanddewi Velfrey.

The closure begins on Thursday, September 12, at 4pm and is expected to last until Sunday, December 22.

A new section of the A40, from Penblewin to Henllan Lodge, is set to open soon.

An overnight switch will occur under traffic lights on the evening of Friday, September 13, for full opening on Saturday, September 14.

The completion of Penblewin roundabout is scheduled over six weekend blocks, avoiding a full closure of the A40 trunk road.

The scheduled weekends are September 27-30, October 4-7, October 11-14, October 18-21, November 8-11, and November 15-18. During these periods, the road will be closed from 8pm to 6am.

Penblewin roundabout and the A40 will remain open during this period.

However, on the weekends of October 11 and October 18, the A478 southern leg of the roundabout to Narberth will be closed.

Diversions will be in place, with traffic using Redstone Road and Robeston Wathen access.

Penblewin truck stop will be closed over the six weekends.

The principal contractor for the project is Griffiths.
