Pwllgwaelod Beach is a stunning location in Pembrokeshire.
The beach features plenty of rock pools and low rocks that are ideal for launching small boats and canoes.
A mixture of dark sand and shingles, Pwllgwaelod Beach is located across Fishguard Bay in Newport.
At the beach there is a valley path leading to Cwm yr Eglwys which takes you to the other side of Dinas ‘Island’.
To avoid the incoming tide, check the tide times in advance so you can make the most of the beaches’ sandy area.
Pwllgwaelod Beach offers disabled access with a concrete ramp for 16 metres and can also be reached by walking through a wooded valley.
Parking is available at the head of the beach and at a nearby pub called The Sailors Safety.
In terms of facilities, public toilets are in walking distance and the village of Dinas is nearby, consisting of a shop, café and pub.
For more options, Newport town is an 11-minute drive away with a range of hotels, B&Bs, guesthouses and camping sites.
