Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking for a new chief executive officer.
The health board is seeking 'outstanding' leaders to apply for the position.
Currently, the role is being temporarily filled by Professor Phil Kloer, who took the role on pending the appointment of the new chairperson for the health board.
Dr Neil Wooding, the new chairperson of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: "The appointment of a chief executive officer is an important part of discharging the role of health board chair and is critical for the future success of an organisation.
"Now that I have been in post for a few months and have come to understand the needs of the organisation, I am keen to progress quickly with the appointment to the pivotal role and ensure stable leadership following a time of change at board level."
Dr Wooding is looking forward to receiving applications from 'qualified and experienced leaders' who are passionate about improving the health and well-being of patients, staff, and communities in mid and west Wales.
He said: "We have a clear strategy at Hywel Dda of moving from a system that treats illness to one that promotes health and keeps people well for longer, and is underpinned by a commitment to ensure that our health and care services are safe, accessible, sustainable, and kind."
He acknowledged that Hywel Dda, like other NHS boards and trusts, faces several challenges that require substantial changes to ensure the sustainability of its services and a secure financial position.
Dr Wooding said: "As a board, we are seeking a leader who can help us to navigate through these challenging times and do so with a clear and engaging vision, robust leadership, and a commitment to upholding our values."
The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping the health and well-being of future generations in the three counties of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
Interested candidates can find further details and application instructions on the health board’s website.
Applications are to be submitted online by midnight on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
