Residents have been asked for their views on plans to make a section of a road in Haverfordwest one-way.

The proposals for the B4329 at Prendergast were developed after residents raised concerns about road safety, parking, and congestion.

The plans aim to manage traffic flow between the Cardigan Road junction and the Bridgend Square Roundabout, while also improving safety for school children and the community.

The proposed one-way system will start at the roundabout and run for around 535 metres up to a new mini-roundabout.

Other aspects of the proposals include a 500-metre shared-use path, redistributing parking bays, and traffic management measures along the route, as well as modifications at Cardigan Road and Hall Park.

Drop-in sessions will be held at Pembrokeshire Archives on September 10, with those interested encouraged to attend between 10am and midday, 1pm and 4pm; and 6.30pm and 8pm.

An online survey will also be available from September 10 and open for feedback until October 1.

Cabinet member for residents’ services, Councillor Rhys Sinnett, said: "The views of the community and regular users of this road are vital to developing these proposals that aim to alleviate concerns local residents have been raising about road safety, on-street parking, and congestion in the area.

"A preferred option will not be finalised until we have the feedback from the local community, so I would urge everyone to make sure they have their say, either in person at the drop-in sessions or online."
