A stalwart volunteer from north Pembrokeshire has raised £500 for a vital children’s hospice which provides respite for local families.
Sandra Connor from Newport has been a volunteer for Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice for more than 30 years. During that time, she has helped collect and raise vital funds for the hospice that provides respite and support for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Sandra’s most recent fundraising events included a coffee morning in Fishguard’s Royal Oak pub, a table top sale in Newport and an awareness and fundraising event in Fishguard’s Coop store.
The three events raised a total of £500 for Ty Hafan.
Despite being born with certain disabilities, 63-year-old Sandra is determined to continue fundraising for Ty Hafan for as long as she can.
She thanked husband Peter for his support in helping her raise the money as well as everybody who helped with the events.
Sandra also expressed her gratitude to the members of the public who made the total raised possible.
Ty Hafan is a children’s hospice based in Barry. It provides support to children and families both at the hospice, in communities and at home.
Ty Hafan is committed to caring for children and young people and helping to make their short lives as full as they can be.
The charity also offers end-of-life care and ongoing bereavement care. Its specialist support also extends to parents, siblings and other family members.
