“We ate at the bar, and it was lovely to see all the dogs in there. I’ve eaten and cooked a lot of chillies in my time, but this was honestly the nicest I have ever tasted. Everyone in our group said their food was delicious and the plates were all empty.”

One review from last month (August 2024) added: “Probably the best Sunday lunch we’ve had at a pub in fairness. The greeting by the manager was excellent – very polite and allowed us to eat outside as we had two dogs with us.

“We both had beef dinners which were absolutely superb, plentiful and each element of the dish was first class. All the staff were very nice and I would highly recommend The Boars Head.”

There were nine of us for a 60th birthday. We had a friendly welcome. We ordered seven Sunday roasts, one scampi and chips and one child’s sausage with chips.

“All meals were lovely. Roasts were accompanied by fresh vegetables and extra gravy. Sweets were also lovely. We ordered three tiramisu’s, one apple crumble and custard, one berries cheesecake and ice cream and one child’s ice cream.

“The pub was very busy so that probably speaks for itself better than my review.”
