Young musicians in Pembrokeshire can enter a new competition, with the chance to win £2,000.
The Pendine Young Musician of Wales competition is part of the North Wales International Music Festival, which runs from September 12 to 21.
The festival is sponsored by the Pendine Park care organisation through the Pendine Arts and Community Trust.
The winner of the competition will receive £2,000 and the Pendine Trophy, as well as a performance slot at next year's festival.
The event's new artistic director, royal composer Paul Mealor, is behind the competition, which is open to anyone born, living in, or studying in Wales.
Professor Mealor said: "We’ve already had a lot of interest from some incredibly talented young musicians and we’re extending the deadline for a week until Friday, September 6, to ensure we give as many of them as possible the chance to enter."
The Grand Final will take place at St Asaph Cathedral on September 18 at 7pm.
Entries are accepted via the festival's website, www.nwimf.com.
The competition will be judged by four esteemed musicians: Alun Jones, singer and former principal of Chetham’s School of Music; Alis Huws, former harpist to the Prince of Wales; Cyrill Ibrahim, a renowned concert pianist; and Lisa Tregale, director of the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales.
The festival will kick off with the world premiere of a community opera and there will be performances from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Foden’s Band, and Ar Log.
The festival fringe will feature an RnB/hip-hop concert, Welsh folk music, a poetry and literary evening, and a North Wales Comedy Night.
